New
Release: Grind Kings
From Lucky 13 Records Agression
was formed in 1982 in Oxnard, California at Silver Strand Beach.
Agression was the original skate punk band from that area, the music is
now known as "Nardcore." The
original members included Mark Hickey, vocals, Big Bob Clark, bass,
Henry Knowles, guitar and Mark Aber, drums. The new recording
"Grind Kings" has six re-recorded songs from the BYO LP, and
10 new songs that are true to the sound of Agression. Mark Aber
was the driving backbeat behind the hard driving and furious sonic new
blend of punk with skate minded lifestyle. That later became
Agression's trademark! Agression's
songs were geared towards skateboarding, surfing and slam dancing, with
some political overtones. Understand this was a band that was into
having fun with music. The band played and toured with Social
Distortion, Fear, T.S.O.L., Bad Religion and Suicidal Tendencies to name
a few. Various
releases from Agression in the past include: BYO's self-titled
"Agression" and later recordings released on Mystic Records,
studio and live recordings, one recorded at CBGB's. The
band soldiered on until the early nineties, then decided to call it
quits. Now years later, Mark Aber has decided to reform Agression,
with lived dates in the future with Big Bob, the only other surviving
member from the original lineup. This new recording captures the energy
and true spirit of the original band "Agression" available on
Lucky 13 Records November 7th.
